Can the product connect to more than one Bluetooth device at a time?

What is the acoustic technology in the Bose Home Speaker 300?
The Bose Home Speaker 300 contains one proprietary Bose full-range driver positioned to fire downwards into an acoustic deflector. This design allows the speaker to produce incredibly smooth and spacious 360° sound. Proprietary digital signal processing enables the Bose Home Speaker 300, a mono speaker, to preserve and reproduce more of a recording’s original stereo audio content when compared to other mono speakers. Proprietary digital signal processing also enables the Bose Home Speaker 300 to maximise audio output from its small size and to produce surprisingly deep bass, leveraging an advanced acoustic port design with Bose’s innovative QuietPort technology.
Can I make or take calls on the Bose Home Speaker 300?
Yes. Using Alexa only, you can directly call Bose smart products, Amazon Echo products and anyone in your contacts list. Simply say, “Alexa, call Mum”, to initiate a call. Or say “Alexa, answer”, to accept an incoming call. You do not need your phone to make or take a call, and it’s free of charge. However, when calling products, both parties are required to have this feature set up and must be on Wi-Fi in order to use it.
Currently, Amazon Alexa works with QC35 headphones II, Headphones 700, Home Speaker 300, Smart Speaker 500, Portable Smart Speaker, Smart Soundbar 300, Soundbar 500, and Smart Soundbar 700.
Can I use the Bose Home Speaker 300 as a clock or alarm?
Yes. Although the Bose Home Speaker 300 does not have an LCD display to show the time, you can use Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa to ask for the time, timers and alarms.
Can I control the bass and treble?
Yes. Bass and treble can be adjusted via the settings menu in the Bose Music app.
Can I connect the Bose Home Speaker 300 to a bass module or satellite surround speakers?
No. The Bose Bass Module 500, Bose Bass Module 700 and Bose Surround Speakers can only be added to the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Smart Soundbar 700.
Can the Bose Home Speaker 300 work in multi-room groups?
Yes. The Bose Home Speaker 300 can play in synchronised multi-room groups with additional Bose Home Speaker 300 units, or with the Bose Smart Speaker 500, the Bose Soundbar 500 or the Bose Smart Soundbar 700. However, you cannot play synchronised multi-room content across the Bose Home Speaker 300 and either Bose SoundTouch products or products from other manufacturers (including Google or Amazon).
Is the Bose Home Speaker 300 compatible with Bose SoundTouch speakers?
No. The Bose Home Speaker 300 uses the Bose Music app for setup, control, and music browsing, while Bose SoundTouch products use the SoundTouch app. The Bose Home Speaker 300 works in synchronised multi-room groups with any combination of additional Bose Home Speaker 300 units, the Bose Smart Speaker 500, the Bose Soundbar 500 or the Bose Smart Soundbar 700.
However, the Bose Home Speaker 300, Bose Smart Speaker 500, Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Smart Soundbar 700 can interoperate with SoundTouch to some extent through Alexa. There are no plans to update SoundTouch to be compatible through Google Assistant in a similar fashion.
With Alexa, users can speak to the Bose Home Speaker 300, Bose Smart Speaker 500, Bose Soundbar 500 or Bose Smart Soundbar 700 to initiate or control music on any SoundTouch speaker in their home. This requires that the user has enabled the Bose smart home skill for SoundTouch in the Alexa app. For example, a user can ask Alexa on their Soundbar 500 to “Play the Beatles on my Living room SoundTouch 20” or “Turn off the Kitchen SoundTouch 10”. This feature still does not allow the Bose Smart Speaker 500, Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Smart Soundbar 700 to be grouped with SoundTouch products for synchronised multi-room playback.
How does the Bose Home Speaker 300 compare to Bose SoundTouch speakers?
The Bose Home Speaker 300, along with the Bose Smart Speaker 500, the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose Smart Soundbar 700 (and future products), is one of the new smart speakers from Bose that include new acoustics with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built in, and are compatible with the Bose Music app for setup and control of integrated Wi-Fi music services.
Bose SoundTouch speakers are a broader family of Wi-Fi speakers that provide Bose quality sound with easy access to your music. SoundTouch products use the Bose SoundTouch app for setup and control of integrated Wi-Fi music services. SoundTouch speakers do not have Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa built in, although they may be controlled by voice using separate devices like the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot.
In terms of acoustic performance, the Bose Home Speaker 300 produces deeper bass and a 360° lifelike sound when compared to the similarly sized SoundTouch 10.
Can I use Chromecast to cast audio content to groups of Bose smart speakers and soundbars?
Yes. You can cast audio content to your group of Bose smart speakers or soundbars through the Bose Music app or on the products themselves. Start by creating a group in the Bose Music app and casting to that group, or by pressing and holding the Action button on the connecting device to pair them into a group that’s playing a cast stream. Group your ground floor speakers, or all the speakers in the house and get the party started.
